Betty
Betty arrived back in May and is now with us for 5 long months. She is a lurcher. Betty is 1 year old and she is chipped, spayed & vaccinated.
She is pretty high energy and will need an active home. We feel that she would do best as the only pet in her new home and needs an experienced dog owner that can provide a calm consistent environment. She is trusting with all of the volunteers that have met her so far. She does jump up (mainly due to excitement) and we are working on this with her. She can get overstimulated and excited quite easily and can be a bit mouthy. This is mostly when she is confined in her kennel space. She is much more relaxed and happy out in the yard and on her walks. This is often the case with active dogs that find it stressful being in kennels for a long period of time.
Betty is looking for an indoor home with a very secure garden. High boundaries will be needed as she does have a high prey drive. She needs someone willing to set healthy boundaries and to give her time to adjust to a new environment. A home with younger children would not work as she is a large dog and would knock them over or nip them. She will need someone home most of the day to help her with all aspects of being a healthy & happy dog.
She cannot live with cats or small furries and it doesn’t bother her in the slightest to wear a muzzle out on her walks.

Daisy
This fabulous girl, Daisy (collie/shepard) is looking for a new home. She was adopted from us at the end of 2023 as a puppy. Unfortunately she and her canine companion in her home are having difficulties and her owners have made the very tough decision to rehome Daisy as the difficulties are not resolving despite many efforts. Because of this, Daisy might prefer to be an only dog in her new home.
Daisy is a very clever, sociable dog who has lived happily with children and enjoyed all aspects of family life. She is fully vaccinated, spayed and chipped.
She has very good recall. She had been coming along well on a lead with a tendency to pull but a little training will help with this. She can be a little excitable in new situations but follows commands well. Older children would suit her best as she is a bigger girl and can be jumpy when she’s excited but will respond to voice commands.
She has completed puppy training with Oracle Dogs. Daisy loves attention and meeting new people.
Daisy is not in our care but if you could offer her a home, please get in touch.

Zena
Zena is 1 year old and through absolutely NO fault of hers, she is looking for a new forever home where she will get the love and attention she deserves. She is a large mixed breed dog, and there is definitely some German Shepherd in there.
She would benefit from who has experience with the shepherd breed and their desire to form a strong bond with their human as she can get anxious when left alone for long periods of time.
Zena is an incredible affectionate girl and loves lots of cuddles. She has lived with a dog previously, so she could share a home with another dog - pending a meet and greet. She has not been cat tested. We would recommend children over the age of 10, and that is only because of her size and the possibility of her knocking smaller children over.
We are looking for an indoor home for Zena so that she can become part of the family. She will also need a secure garden. We feel she would be more suited to a rural location. She has yet to be spayed, but that can be arranged prior to her being rehomed.

Mork
Mork is a German shepherd X collie and is around 6 months old. He was dumped at an abandoned house with his sister Mindy and thankfully they were found and brought to us. Mindy is in forever home and we would love Mork to find his forever family, too.
Mork is a happy, healthy, playful, affectionate boy. He is really gentle and friendly and is happy to potter away himself. He loves to play and get out for his walks and is fond of a good belly rub as well. A football, some rope toys, his grub …. And he is as happy as can be. We don’t imagine he will get too much bigger but he will need to be neutered when he is a little older.
Research the breed! They are intelligent, loyal and energetic. Reserved but friendly. They enjoy the company of their family and can struggle with separation anxiety. They are also protective which means they can be hesitant when first meeting strangers.
Mork will only be homed as indoor pet. He will need a secure garden with somebody home a lot of the time. He will need TIME and patience to adjust to a new home.

Val
Val is a very sweet lurcher boy that arrived into our care recently from the pound. He is 1 to 2 years old and has had just first vaccinations and has been chipped. He is very thin so we are hoping to give him a little time to gain some weight before he has his neutering operation.
Val is your typical lurcher. Quite laid back and content to have a nice slow gentle walk. You could hold his leash with your baby finger. He enjoys his time in the yard, just having a sniff and enjoying the peace and quiet. He is great with all the volunteers, even the younger members of our team. He keeps his kennel really clean so he should be really easy to toilet trained.
This breed are so often overlooked because of a misperception that they are highly energetic (not true). They like short bursts of exercise and sleep a LOT! They tend to be outgoing, happy and sociable with people and seem to relish human contact, even following owners from room to room at home (known colloquially as being a “Velcro dog”). They have a sensitive nature, and gentle commands work best as training methods.
Val is looking for an indoor home with a secure garden. He will need someone home most of the day to help him with all aspects of being a healthy & happy dog. He will also need some time and patience to adjust to a new home. He cannot live with cats or other furries.

Alfie
Alfie is a 14 year old Yorkshire Terrier and due to unforeseen circumstances that have nothing to do with Alfie - he is sadly now looking for a retirement home.
Despite his age, Alfie is a happy, healthy, active dog. He is good with other dogs, although he can have resource guarding issues. He could potentially live with another dog pending a meet and greet to assess how they get along. But we imagine he would do best as the only pet in the home. He hasn’t been cat tested. Alfie is not good with small children.
He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and has been a much loved pet and used to indoor living.

Ollie (Reserved)
Ollie is a handsome 3yr old boy. He is not in our care but looking for a new home due to a change of circumstances.
He is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. He hasn’t had the best start in life but has been looked after beautifully by his current carer who describes him as such a loveable affectionate fella who loves people.
He can live with another dog subject to meet and greet, but can also live as an only dog. He is house trained He is inquisitive with cats but not harmful. He can get into their space so potential cats needs to be dog savvy.
He can be a bit strong on lead to start with with but settles after. Has basic commands and is eager to please. Is good with washing and grooming. He is described as an all round sociable guy.
